The fascination for modelbuilding and miniatures I already had when I was 8 years old.It was more in the direction of airplanes and tanks, so the normal stuff, let's say.It stayed that way untill the beginning of the 90's.I discovered a new challenge in movie related figure model kits.They were slowly finding their way to the Belgian market, allthough very limited.But as a horror and SF fan, it opened new doors.I did my very best to build and paint them as good as possible.

And not without success, because 5 years later, in '95, I won in my First model kit painting competition about everything there was to win in my favorate categories and on top of that, I grabbed the 'best of show' award .A very unique experience, being it your first public event. Meanwhile I began to sculpt a few accessories from time to time, using Creall-Therm.And from one thing came another.I don't even want to begin to discuss those first busts I made, but it was an important fase at that time.

The sculpts became better en I began to dream about creating and producing my very own model kits.That dream became reality, when I got the opportunity to learn everything about about making moulds and casting.Nothing stood in my way to make the dream come true. Unfortunatly, the subjects I do, were, and still are, considdered inferior to the ruling military subjects.

So after a little while, I started working for other companies.Most of that work was for the comic business.Sometimes production only, but also the whole procedure from protoype to finished products. For two years I could hol don, but had to give up in the end.An artist is not necessarely a good business man.On top of that, I began to have regrets not be able to do my own designs without having a serious case of sleep shortfall.

So last year in september I picked up my carreer at defence. But not everything was negative.My knowledge of casing and moulding had considerably improved over the years.It also made me better as a person and it shows in mrecent work.My challenge is now to reach perfection.Not for the outside World, but for myself.
