Belgium doesn't only have great artists and internationally known fashion
designers, there is also a group of creative souls that is not in the limelight. We have some very good doll artists, each
with their own style and craftsmanship. It's a world
that a lot of people don't know about, especially if they haven't visited
a doll fair yet. When I tell people that I sculpt dolls, I often get that
look on their face "oh yeah...". But that is only until they
visit my website or I start talking about our passion,
the way we sculpt the dolls and what lives in this dolls world, or when
I tell them that doll collectors from around the world
buy our dolls. Then they tell me: "I really had no idea!! When I
think about doll making, I imagined something else". But doll making
isn't this old fashioned hobby, it's a small world that is very
much alive and growing.
Doll making is for us doll makers often a way to express ourselves
in a non-conventional way. We get a lot of questions like "and where
do you get these moulds?" or "where do you get these patterns,
or ideas?" Well, one of a kind doll makers make unique dolls,
they design the doll from their own ideas, in their own style and using
their own specific materials.
It has been a dream for me for a long time to see all these Belgian
Doll Artists together in one website, that's why I took the initiative
to build this website. It will be a fun mix of all different kind of styles
and colours!
I hope you will have as much fun visiting this website as I had building it! And
be sure to come back later because we have only recently started and there
will be new doll artists added regularly. Doll lovers and collectors
will surely love it here!
